Week 3 Recap

Well hey there, everyone! We are now officially three weeks into the regular season, and may football wonders never cease! It's been a rollercoaster of highs and lows, and let me tell you, I am loving the ride. So strap yourselves in, and let's get to the match ups! Let's start off with the match up between AdamBlowsGoats-HaveProof and PasswordIsTACO, because it has the honor of being both our household match up of the week and the only one where both team managers spent the whole time off the North American continent. First off on Thursday night, it was a head to head Niner's match up, with solid performances from both ABG-HP's Christian McCaffrey and TACO's Deebo Samuel. From there, though, it was another all TACO week. Justin Jefferson had a slow start, but hit is stride in the second half for a good day out against the Chargers. Davante Adams also refused to be ignored with a huge 40+ point day against the Steelers. ABG-HP's other bright spot was Chris O

Week 2 Recap

Hi there, friends! I'll start off this week's recap by being honest with y'all - some weeks it's harder to write these recaps than others. And this week is a tough one, because the last thing that's burned into my football memory is Nick Chubb's season-ending injury during Monday night's game. If there's anything that makes you not want to think about football, it's that kind of thing. Just horrible. But here's the thing - football really is life. It's got its ups and downs, its joy and its pain, and it is certainly not measured by the number of times you fall down. It's measured by the number of times you get back up again, and over here at Barbecue Sauce HQ, we're sending Nick Chubb all the positive energy that he can bounce back from this. Now that might be a heavy and sappy start for a league recap, but sometimes, that's just about doing the little things that bring you happiness. For me, that's spending some time with y&#

Week 1 Recap

Hey there, sports fans! Wouldn't you know it, we survived week one of NFL football! There are a lot of changes coming into the league this year - rookie quarterbacks earning their salt, fair catches always coming to the 25 yard line, and the number 0 is now a legal jersey number. Well, I'll just say that while there may be zeroes in the league, you all are heroes in my book. Let's get into the recap! Let's open up with our very first household match of the season - the newly renamed Be Curious Not Judgmental and Panic and Snooze. This one came down to the late window of games and Monday night, as well as some surprises of the "past utilization does not predict future performance" variety. Who knew Calvin Ridley and Jakobi Meyers had hands, huh? Regardless, Stefon Diggs was an "old reliable" for BCNJ, coming strong out of the gate with over 100 receiving yards and a TD. PAS had a tough matchup and a tough week with a crew of great players who seemed t

2023 Pre-Season Message

Hey there, everyone!  Do you believe in a thing called fantasy football? Because I sure can't believe that it's time for the 2023 season already! Now, I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge that we are now on our third straight year of playing in this league together, and I cannot believe that I have been privileged enough to serve as your commish for all this time. From tolerating the lightning-speed drafts to you folks actually reading all my silly recaps, I am just humbled that y'all keep showing up year after year.  So before we all start getting a little competitive and potentially letting the NFL ruin every Sunday we have for the rest of the year, I just wanted to take a moment to say I appreciate y'all. I love this league like Netflix loves making live action anime remakes that no one wants. I guess it's just a passion. See you on the field! Hugs & Kisses, Your Commish

Weeks 5 & 6 Recap

Hey, everybody! Long time, no see! Boy I tell you what, sometimes the time just gets away from you, and that's what's certainly happened over the past couple of weeks. We have gotten through two full weeks of fantasy football, and where has your stalwart commish been? I wish I could say that it's because I was out there just having too much fun and time was just flying, but the reality of the situation was... I was caught up doing normal adult life stuff and I forgot. I do apologize to y'all. So instead of our normal recap of the match ups, let's go through what all you fine team managers have been up to over the past couple of weeks! AdamBlowsGoats-HaveProof had both the thrill of victory and the agony of players on bye week over the past couple of weeks. Derrick Henry was the star of week 5 for ABG-HP and the W they brought home that week, rushing for over 100 yards with a couple of receptions for icing on the cake. Week 6 was a bit of a scramble between the bye

Week 4 Recap

Howdy, folks! Well, as y'all may have noticed, week four really flew by, so much so that it's pretty much week five now! Sorry about that, time got away from us here at good ol' Barbecue Sauce HQ. But it was a thrilling week of football that handed out more Butterfingers than Halloween night! By which I mean there were a lot of bounce-off-the-hands drops... Anyway, there were some big booms in the match up this week so let's get into it! PasswordIsTaco's illustrious win streak came to an end this week against Biscuits With The Boss, who exploded with a total of 163.16 points. BWTB's wide receiver duo of Justin Jefferson and Mike Evans came up with 30+ points each, locking in both the victory and the highest total of the league this week. TACO's own dynamic duo of Deebo Samuels and Christian McCaffrey rocketed up over 20 points each, but it was not enough to stop BWTB from cashing in on his payday. Well done to you both! Panic And Snooze pulled out the W ove

Week 3 Recap

Hey there, everyone! Well, it is officially autumn, and we have made it through another week of football! I'm gonna come right out and be honest with you folks - this week was a little bit of a slow one. We had some rough injuries, some under-performances, and some players who seemed to just hit the snooze button during the Sunday games. But as Bob Dylan tells us, don't think twice, it's alright, y'all! The low weeks just let us appreciate the high ones that much more. Special congratulations to Panic and Snooze for being the only team that broke 120 points this week! And with that, let's get into those matchups. Well, as previously mentioned, the only team to get above that 120 mark was Panic and Snooze, who sailed to victory over East Side Believers. PAS's Jalen Hurts had a particularly good week against the Commanders, putting up 340 yards and 3 TDs. It was a quiet week for ESB with only Travis Kelce breaking the 15 point mark, and a let-down performance fro
