Weeks 5 & 6 Recap

Hey, everybody! Long time, no see!

Boy I tell you what, sometimes the time just gets away from you, and that's what's certainly happened over the past couple of weeks. We have gotten through two full weeks of fantasy football, and where has your stalwart commish been? I wish I could say that it's because I was out there just having too much fun and time was just flying, but the reality of the situation was... I was caught up doing normal adult life stuff and I forgot. I do apologize to y'all. So instead of our normal recap of the match ups, let's go through what all you fine team managers have been up to over the past couple of weeks!

AdamBlowsGoats-HaveProof had both the thrill of victory and the agony of players on bye week over the past couple of weeks. Derrick Henry was the star of week 5 for ABG-HP and the W they brought home that week, rushing for over 100 yards with a couple of receptions for icing on the cake. Week 6 was a bit of a scramble between the bye week and an injured Chris Olave, and the Hail Mary of Miles Sanders couldn't quite remedy the situation. ABG-HP's record goes to 1-5 heading into week 7. Keep at it, you'll get 'em!

Biscuits With The Boss had a rough couple of weeks, despite a 30+ point performance from Justin Jefferson on week 5. The bye week hit hard on week 6, but Breece Hall came through for BWTB in a shocking performance that must make us ask the question, "Are the Jets good now?" BWTB goes to 3-3, and will be looking to improve on the past couple of weeks. You've got this!

East Side Believers also came up 0 for 2 in the past couple of weeks, but not without some highlights to mention. Travis Kelce was the go-to guy for week 5, blasting the Raiders defense for 4 gosh-darned TDs. Week 6 was an overall disappointment that came down to the Chargers offense on Monday night. Word is that ESB is still cursing Justin Herbert's name, despite still starting him in their line up this week. ESB goes to 1-5, and will be hoping to change that luck. Chin up!

No Punt Intended came up smelling like roses for the past two weeks. On week 5, NPI posted the highest overall score of the league since week 1, putting up a whopping 173.18 points. That's the third highest of the season so far! Week 6 came through with WR dominance by Tyreek Hill and Michael Pittman Jr., both of whom caught over 100 yards of passes. These two Ws advance NPI to 5-1, a performance they'll surely want to continue as they currently top the Barbecue Sauce standings. Way to go!

Panic And Snooze similarly lined 'em up and knocked 'em down for weeks 5 and 6. While PAS posted several 20+ point players in week 5, none is more surprising than the 22 points from the Dallas defense. Everything truly is bigger in Texas, folks. Week 6 was a much closer contest, but through perseverance and persistence, PAS locked in the W. PAS goes up to 4-2, locking in the number 3 spot on the league standings. Great work!

PasswordIsTaco hit the 50/50 split over the past two weeks, suffering from a couple of brutal underperformances in week 5. TACO rallied for week 6 though, and rode consistently solid stats across the board to victory. Christian McCaffrey went out with a bang for his last game with the Panthers by posting just a refreshing medley of rushing and receiving yards for 20+ points. TACO goes to 3-3, with playoff hopes still very much alive. Good job!

Rubber City Roughnecks went 1-1 for the last two match ups, with Mark Andrews and his 100+ receiving yards and TD being the lone bright spot in week 5. RCR brushed themselves off for week 6 though, led by a virtuoso performance by Ja'Marr Chase that saw 132 receiving yards and 2 TDs. This puts RCR at 4-2 and at second overall in the league. Well done!

Last but certainly not least in our alphabetical list of team names, Zip Zop Zooies also went half and half for Ws. An epic performance from Josh Allen on week 5 secured the victory for ZZZ, who threw for over 400 yards and 4 TDs. Week 6 was not so wonderful, and even with Stefon Diggs and his 30+ points, ZZZ couldn't quite get over the top. ZZZ goes to 3-3, and will be looking to rally this week to stay in that playoff race. You can do it!

Well, that's about all for our special edition two-week recap coverage. I hope that twice the fantasy football action meant twice the fun reading this for y'all. To everyone who hit mostly highs over the past couple of weeks, congratulations! To everyone else, don't let the lows get you too low, because week 7 starts now.

Hugs & Kisses,

Your Commish

Week 4 Recap

Howdy, folks! Well, as y'all may have noticed, week four really flew by, so much so that it's pretty much week five now! Sorry about that, time got away from us here at good ol' Barbecue Sauce HQ. But it was a thrilling week of football that handed out more Butterfingers than Halloween night! By which I mean there were a lot of bounce-off-the-hands drops... Anyway, there were some big booms in the match up this week so let's get into it! PasswordIsTaco's illustrious win streak came to an end this week against Biscuits With The Boss, who exploded with a total of 163.16 points. BWTB's wide receiver duo of Justin Jefferson and Mike Evans came up with 30+ points each, locking in both the victory and the highest total of the league this week. TACO's own dynamic duo of Deebo Samuels and Christian McCaffrey rocketed up over 20 points each, but it was not enough to stop BWTB from cashing in on his payday. Well done to you both! Panic And Snooze pulled out the W ove...

Week 1 Recap

Hello again, all you wonderful people!  That crisp fall chill is in the year, and that can only mean one thing - NFL football is back! As predictable and ubiquitous as pumpkin spice everything, the new season is everywhere, folks. Week one featured grudge matches of quarterbacks playing their former teams, a slip-n-slide at Soldier Field, and more shanked kicks than you can shake a stick at. I don't know about y'all out there, but over here at Barbecue Sauce HQ, it just feels good to be home. As for the match-ups, we had not one, but two  teams coming out strong with over 170 total points by the time the ballots were counted Monday night. Biscuits With The Boss is our esteemed league points leader, with a ludicrous display of Justin Jefferson and 177.02 points for a victory over the newly renamed Panic and Snooze. Following closely behind is our defending league champion Rubber City Roughnecks with a whopping 174.5 points led by Saquon Barkley, taking the W over the some...
