Week 3 Recap

Well hey there, everyone!

We are now officially three weeks into the regular season, and may football wonders never cease! It's been a rollercoaster of highs and lows, and let me tell you, I am loving the ride. So strap yourselves in, and let's get to the match ups!

Let's start off with the match up between AdamBlowsGoats-HaveProof and PasswordIsTACO, because it has the honor of being both our household match up of the week and the only one where both team managers spent the whole time off the North American continent. First off on Thursday night, it was a head to head Niner's match up, with solid performances from both ABG-HP's Christian McCaffrey and TACO's Deebo Samuel. From there, though, it was another all TACO week. Justin Jefferson had a slow start, but hit is stride in the second half for a good day out against the Chargers. Davante Adams also refused to be ignored with a huge 40+ point day against the Steelers. ABG-HP's other bright spot was Chris Olave, as he always is, but it was a rough day for Justin Fields against a Kansas City defense that was just on a roll. When the dust settled, TACO secured both the win and the highest points total of the week. Good job from Sicily, guys!

Next up, let's go to No Punt Intended versus Be Curious Not Judgmental, which I will call the Battle of the Waiver Wire. BCNJ had a clutch pick up of Sam Laporta off the waivers this week, and the tight end turned out a better points total than even Travis Kelce. Justin Herbert also added 4 TDs to BCNJ's total, making it a great day out for them. But remember how I said that NPI was going to be looking forward to some offensive chemistry? Boy howdy, did it come through this week. With the grab of Raheem Mostert from the wire, NPI cashed in handsomely on Mostert's 4 TD contribution to Miami's stunning 70 point game on Sunday. Add in Patrick Mahomes in full form against the Bears and a little bit of Zack Moss in the flex, and NPI stormed to the second highest points total of the week just behind TACO. It was a hard fought match, and both teams deserve a hearty congratulations!

Third we have Rubber City Roughnecks up against Zip Zop Zooies. ZZZ can still rely on Tyreek Hill because, heck, it's Tyreek Hill. Hill put up 157 yards and TD, slapping a hefty 30.7 points to ZZZ's total. Unfortunately, Joe Burrow was back to week 1 form and couldn't get much at all going in terms of passing against the Rams. Except, apparently, in terms of throwing to Jamaar Chase, who is on RCR's roster. In addition to Chase, RCR had Lamar Jackson and Kenneth Walker III turn in two rushing TDs each. RCR also had the benefit of the Cleveland Browns defense, led by the Patron Saint of Putting QBs in the Dirt, Myles Garrett (praised be his name). When all was said and done, RCR came away with their first win of the season. Well done, you two!

We'll wrap up this week with what we here at Barbecue Sauce HQ have dubbed the Running Back Pain match up of the week, East Side Believers versus Panic And Snooze. Both teams lost both of their starting RBs going into this week, and that pain was certainly felt on the field. The bright spot for ESB this week was the Buffalo Bills defense, who may as well be called the repo men for how many times they took the ball away from the Commanders. PAS more than made up for a rough RB week with Keenan Allen, who threw 45+ points on the board as well as TD during the game (seriously). That combined with Kirk Cousins' uncanny ability to score many fantasy points but not win actual football games made PAS the victor this week. Great match up, folks!

That just about does it for the recap this week, but just think about all we have to look forward to - the first game of the season in London! Thank goodness there's at least one place on Earth that gets excited about NFL kickers, right? Larry David would be miserable, but I suppose that wouldn't be a huge change of pace for him.  Howdy, folks! Well, as y'all may have noticed, week four really flew by, so much so that it's pretty much week five now! Sorry about that, time got away from us here at good ol' Barbecue Sauce HQ. But it was a thrilling week of football that handed out more Butterfingers than Halloween night! By which I mean there were a lot of bounce-off-the-hands drops... Anyway, there were some big booms in the match up this week so let's get into it! PasswordIsTaco's illustrious win streak came to an end this week against Biscuits With The Boss, who exploded with a total of 163.16 points. BWTB's wide receiver duo of Justin Jefferson and Mike Evans came up with 30+ points each, locking in both the victory and the highest total of the league this week. TACO's own dynamic duo of Deebo Samuels and Christian McCaffrey rocketed up over 20 points each, but it was not enough to stop BWTB from cashing in on his payday. Well done to you both! Weeks 5 & 6 Recap

 Hey, everybody! Long time, no see! Boy I tell you what, sometimes the time just gets away from you, and that's what's certainly happened over the past couple of weeks. We have gotten through two full weeks of fantasy football, and where has your stalwart commish been? I wish I could say that it's because I was out there just having too much fun and time was just flying, but the reality of the situation was... I was caught up doing normal adult life stuff and I forgot. I do apologize to y'all. So instead of our normal recap of the match ups, let's go through what all you fine team managers have been up to over the past couple of weeks! AdamBlowsGoats-HaveProof had both the thrill of victory and the agony of players on bye week over the past couple of weeks. Derrick Henry was the star of week 5 for ABG-HP and the W they brought home that week, rushing for over 100 yards with a couple of receptions for icing on the cake. Week 1 Recap

 Hello again, all you wonderful people!  That crisp fall chill is in the year, and that can only mean one thing - NFL football is back! As predictable and ubiquitous as pumpkin spice everything, the new season is everywhere, folks. Week one featured grudge matches of quarterbacks playing their former teams, a slip-n-slide at Soldier Field, and more shanked kicks than you can shake a stick at. I don't know about y'all out there, but over here at Barbecue Sauce HQ, it just feels good to be home. As for the match-ups, we had not one, but two  teams coming out strong with over 170 total points by the time the ballots were counted Monday night. Biscuits With The Boss is our esteemed league points leader, with a ludicrous display of Justin Jefferson and 177.02 points for a victory over the newly renamed Panic and Snooze.
