Hello again, all you wonderful people!
That crisp fall chill is in the year, and that can only mean one thing - NFL football is back! As predictable and ubiquitous as pumpkin spice everything, the new season is everywhere, folks. Week one featured grudge matches of quarterbacks playing their former teams, a slip-n-slide at Soldier Field, and more shanked kicks than you can shake a stick at. I don't know about y'all out there, but over here at Barbecue Sauce HQ, it just feels good to be home.
As for the match-ups, we had not one, but two teams coming out strong with over 170 total points by the time the ballots were counted Monday night. Biscuits With The Boss is our esteemed league points leader, with a ludicrous display of Justin Jefferson and 177.02 points for a victory over the newly renamed Panic and Snooze. Following closely behind is our defending league champion Rubber City Roughnecks with a whopping 174.5 points led by Saquon Barkley, taking the W over the somehow-still-named AdamBlowsGoats- HaveProof. A strong start to the season indeed! But it's still early times, PS and ABG-HP, keep the faith!
The other two match-ups this week saw No Punt Intended put on a clinic for East Side Believers with Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City offense, and Zip Zip Zooey holding court with the honorable Josh Allen and the irrepressible Buffalo Bills against PasswordIsTACO. Double quarterback trouble! Well done to you both, and I'm sure ESB and TACO will be dusting off for the week two match-ups!
Well that's about all we have time for on our opening week! Thanks for coming back to our league this year, I sure do enjoy playing with y'all. To the winners, enjoy that glow of week one success! To everyone else, take that disappointment like you're Snoop Dogg and drop it like it's hot, because week two starts now.
Hugs & Kisses,
Your Commish
